Sinead O'Connor interviews Ryan Tubridy on the Late Late Show and asks Ireland to start a REVOLUTION

The tables were turned on Ryan Tubridy tonight when guest Sinead O’Connor got to sit in his seat and interview him.

The RTE host sat on the guests couch as Sinead sat behind his desk and questioned Ryan about his feelings on 1916 and working for the state broadcaster.

“I feel very exposed,” Ryan admitted when Sinead started asking him questions.

The Nothing Compares 2U singer asked Ryan about his ability to express his opinion on the show and if he felt he couldn’t express himself because he works for RTE.

Switching roles: Sinead interviewed Ryan

“I think you are able to have an opinion and express how you feel,” he told her.

“I do have a role in this programme as a moderator so I have to balance and even out debate. But I’m happy to talk things out in the pub, I can do that,” he said.

Things took a turn when Sinead asked Ryan and the audience if they would agree to creating a second republic in Ireland.

“What about the creation of a second republic of Ireland? A peaceful revolution?” she said.

Revolution: Sinead wants to create a second Irish Republic

Speaking about the viral video this week of the woman thrown to the curb during Water Charges protests, Sinead said things need to change.

“Gards are throwing women around the street over water. It’s time for a revolution, a non violent one.

“We mustn’t be afraid of all the temptations not to have revolution. We need to be sitting out there get shot if you’ve got to get shot.

“We’ve got to take back our country, we need to get that spirit back of 1916.

“This discrediting on 1916 is being done so we won’t revolt but we shouldn’t be afraid to revolt.”
