Storm Uechtritz was 'SCARED' to first date Ronan Keating – as she'd hurt his kids if they split

Loved-up Storm Uechtritz has revealed she was “scared” initially dating Ronan Keating – as she feared hurting his kids if it didn’t go the distance.

The Australian has been dating the Boyzone singer for nearly two years, after working alongside him on the Oz version of the X Factor.

But initially the 32-year-old decided to keep the relationship hidden from Jack, 15, Missy, 13 and nine-year-old Ali for seven months – pretending she was his PA whenever they visited.

“When they came over in the summer, I was at the X Factor every so often and then we all went to dinner but with a group of friends,” she said.

“Ali thought I was Ronan’s PA at first but by the end I think Jack had figured it out.”

And Storm said that initially dating Ronan, 37, was tough because of not being able to go for dates out of the media spotlight that follows him.

She said: “We both had a lot to consider right from the beginning and I’ll be honest, when you’re looking at dating someone like Ro, there’s a lot that comes with that and I was a little scared.

“I was attracted to his heart and who he was as a person but not to everything that went with it. You don’t get the chance, like normal couples, to say, ‘Let’s go on a few days and see how it goes’.

“We wanted our privacy until we knew it was serious. We didn’t want the kids to read about it if it was only going to be a three month thing.”

However nearly two years on, Storm admits it “hasn’t been difficult at all” becoming a stepmum.

“The kids are amazing, incredible little souls, all three of them, and they’ve just been so welcoming. I pinch myself all the time,” she told Hello magazine.

“This should be a really difficult situation – let’s be honest, it generally is – but it hasn’t.

“It’s just been so incredible and it fills my heart with so much warmth because even though they are not my children, I get to spend my life with them and they fill me with so much laughter and happiness.”
