Stars go to the polls to vote 'Yes'

Ireland’s biggest stars are weighing in on the Marriage Referendum today by taking to their local polling stations to cast their vote.

Making sure to have their voice heard, celebrities have been taking to their social media to urge their Irish followers to vote ‘Yes’.

He’s racked up the airmiles this past week and picked up three music awards in the meantime but singer-songwriter Hozier has made time in his busy schedule to come home to place his vote.

Holding a #YesEquality2015 sign, the Wicklow man wrote: “Éire! Have some hrs free, flying in to vote tomorrow. It’s the most important thing you’ll do. Don’t forget! #MarRef”.

Other famous faces putting their travel plans on hold to cast their vote include Mrs Brown’s Boys Rory Cowan who delayed his flight to Austria for the Eurovision to make sure he could vote.

TV3 presenter Alan Hughes and his long-term love Karl Broderick revealed they will fly back from Vienna to cast their ballot.

A stream of Ireland’s fashion elite, Rosanna Davison, Roz Purcell and Holly Carpenter, have stood firmly by the Yes camp and have been pleading with the nation to vote for equality.

Taking to her social media AR model Holly Carpenter shared a photo outside her local polling station.

The brunette beauty wrote alongside the pic: “The most important thing I’ve done this year was putting an ‘X’ in the right box ❤️ #simples”

While Roz Purcell shared “Let’s do this !!! #VoteYES make it your first priority today to go vote , use your voice” with her vote ‘Yes’ pic.

As Irish celebs show their support for the ‘Yes’ campaign, famous faces from around the world share there opinion on the referendum.

Big Brother’s Bit on the Side host Rylan Clark posted a pic of himself to Twitter simply writing “#VoteYes”.

Meanwhile music megastars Ed Sheeran and Ellie Goulding showed their support for the ‘Yes’ vote political cause.
