Irish soccer star Stephanie Roche has revealed she wants to ditch her boots for a TV role.
The top footballer wants to capitalise on being nominated for FIFA’s Puskas Goal of the Award, in which she finished second last month.
She said: “The thing is, I don’t have a lot to fall back on, but I am interested in working in TV.

“I enjoy that side of things and it is something that I haven’t thought about before, but have been thinking about lately.
“But I don’t know. I haven’t been to college so it is hard for me to just walk into a job. Football will still be first no matter what I do though.”
The 25-year-old recently left the club ASPTT Albi in France after six months and is deciding if she needs a full time job, with soccer becoming a hobbie.
She added: “I have to wait to get my transfer papers before I can sign up with anybody else.
TV plans: Stephanie wants new career path
“So I’m weighing up my options now as to whether I can play pro and make enough money to live, or whether I need to get a job and play amateur.”
And Stephanie may be motivated by money – as she’s been left broke by playing professional football.
She told VIP: “I think America is the only place where you can get good money. When I was in France I was getting €700 a month, and I was broke nearly every week.
“So if I was to go away now on a contract and get €1,000 a month, which is what a lot
of girls are on, I can live okay when I am away, but when I’m home I won’t have much to fall back on.”
