Singer Morgan Deane hits the airwaves after public split

Turning heartache into worldwide success has worked for music megastar Sam Smith and now it looks like Morgan Deane is now trying to do the same.

The model-mum who has separated from her cricketer husband, Graeme Smith has just released her new solo single Take Me on the Floor on Soundcloud and already the song has been commanding the South African airwaves.

Playing on Cape Town’s KFM, lyrics in the Cork singer’s new tune include some cryptic messages “I ain’t got nothing to hide” and “last night, I left my memories at home”.

However, this isn’t Morgan’s first furore into music having had success with Irish pop band Industry alongside celebrity chef Donal Skehan and Model-presenter Michele McGrath.

The band had two number one hits in the Irish Singles Chart with their debut single My Baby’s Waiting and Burn as well as supporting The Pussycat Dolls on their Irish tour.

Meanwhile, the mum-of-two has been thrusted into the spotlight in recent weeks after it was revealed her husband, sportsman Graeme Smith, allegedly asked for a divorce over text message.

The couple who married after a two month whirlwind romance in 2011 announced their split much to Morgan’s shock as she believed he wanted to save their marriage.

The former Jedward backing singer has been “left devastated” after she reportedly found out Graeme wanted a divorce when he mistakenly sent her a text he’d meant to send to his lawyer.

More recently according to reports, the sport star has already moved on from the Cork native with a Cape Town businesswoman.
