Sile Seoige admits: 'I'm not worried about critics' – as she makes her stage debut

Sile Seoige has admitted that she won’t be taking any notice of reviews when she takes to the stage later this month.

The presenter who will star in the the Irish musical I, Keano told Goss.ie she understands that she won’t get good reviews from everyone.

“I’m already pretty sure there will be varying opinions,” she admitted.

“Probably will be some of them will say I’m pants so that’s OK, I’m prepared for either and I don’t mind,” she explained.

“If somebody says ‘most amazing portrayal of the role known to man’ or ‘the worst I’ve ever seen’ I’m going to take both in the same way, which is not take it in at all – you can’t listen to that otherwise you wouldn’t get out of bed in the morning.

“I’ve learnt through years of working in the media that you take the good and the bad with exactly the same which is nothing, you have to do your thing,” she admitted.

Admitting that her charity Christmas single meant she was on “peoples radar”, Sile said she is excited to debut on the stage.

“It seems like the next natural step, delighted they have taken a leap of faith with me which they have, I’m prepare to work at it and give it my best shot, remains to be seen how it will be perceived but I’ll certainly give it my best,” she smiled.

Marking her theatre debut, Sile will star as Surfia in the musical comedy and can’t wait to continue her musical journey.

“I would love to explore more music of course that’s what’s lovely about this is I get to sing a song, obviously it’s done in a fun playful way,” she said.
