Seeing the sights, having a pint in his local and more: 6 reasons we love Pierce Brosnan being home

Pierce Brosnan

Pierce Brosnan has finally come back to his homeland, albeit only for a film, we’re still loving him being papped around the Emerald Isle.

A Navan native, the Hollywood star spent his childhood in the Meath town before being unceremoniously shipped across the puddle to grow up in the UK.

Obsessed with him rediscovering his roots, Goss.ie look at the 007 star’s re-education to Irish culture and why we love having him back.

1. His very Irish selfies

Pierce Brosnan

We have to give credit where credit is due, Pierce is looking well these days and ageing like an expensive fine wine.

It’s doesn’t deter our obsession either that the 62-year-old has been posting a ream of selfies from well-known spots around our fair Island.

From visiting Joyce Tower in Sandycove Co. Dublin to climbing Killiney Hill, we welcome the movie star’s idyllic selfies.

At Goss HQ we think Pierce is the perfect walking advertisement for Failte Ireland.

2. Going back to his roots

Although Pierce is busy filming revenge thriller I.T. in the capital, he’s still made time to visit his old hometown.

A Navan man first, the Mamma Mia star shared cute snaps of him reliving parts of his earlier life.

Heading to the town’s Palace theatre, the handsome actor wrote on his Instagram: “Palace Theatre Navan Co. Meath Eire…where I watched movies as boy.”

3. Having pints around town

It’s not all deep and meaningful for the father-of-four, sometimes he just wants to be like us and have a pint of Guinness.

Taking a pit stop in Dublin bar Dakota, the Remember Me actor did as any Irishman would and ordered a delicious pint of the black stuff.

Making the staff’s day, Pierce posed with publicans and locals at the hotspot whilst settling back into Irish life with a quiet drink in tow.

4. Reliving his childhood memories

Pierce has been bringing his social media followers on a journey through his childhood.

Taking us down memory lane, the handsome actor has been sharing snaps from his hometown Navan, Co. Meath.

Posing beside the street he grew up on, Pierce has shown his emotional side as he relives the spots that mean most to him.

5.Getting into the Irish spirit

At Goss.ie we love how in touch Pierce is getting with Irish culture however we’re not sure if he’s taking the stereotype perhaps a step too far.

Channelling the fighting Irish and then some, the Laws of Attraction actor has been mixing business and leisure whilst here.

“Having s bloody great time back home in IRELAND ….making movies and a fighting… An #Irish Dreamtime production called I.T.,” he joked on his Instagram.

He loves a pun, definitely getting into the Irish spirit.

Can we just have a moment for this photo…

Yes, Pierce you have summed up Ireland in a single photo, windy, grey but full of heart.

Sharing this sweet photo of him and his wife Keely, the actor has been bringing his love to his favourite sights in Ireland.

This photo warms the cockles of Goss HQ hearts and shows us he’s falling in love all over again with this Island of ours.
