Ed Sheeran has revealed that Saoirse Ronan shocked him with the most hilarious, and permanent, prank.
The Carlow native will appear in the music video for his hit single Galway Girl, which was filmed in the West last week.
In the middle of filming, the British star asked Saoirse to write the title of the song on his arm in her handwriting.
However, in a hilarious turn of events – the Brooklyn star purposely wrote Galway Grill, which was then PERMANENTLY tattooed on Ed’s arm.

According to The Sun, the 26-year-old told the crowd at his Glasgow gig on Sunday, “When we were filming it I meant to get a tattoo of her handwriting saying Galway Girl from her point of view.
“It actually says Galway Grill. G-R-I-L-L. She really took the p*** out of me. Full on!”
Ed’s definitely no stranger to tattoos, and was actually impressed by Saoirse’s prank.
“I haven’t actually told anyone that yet. I’m actually quite proud of her. It’s the kind of thing I would do,” he laughed.
