Samuel L Jackson tees up plans to build a golf course in Ireland

Hollywood star Samuel L Jackson has revealed he plans to build his own golf course in Ireland.

The Pulp Fiction star is a massive fan of golf, and has previously teed off in JP McManus’s Pro Am tournament at Adare Manor with Ronan Keating.

Now the 66-year-old wants to set up his own course in Munster, with Limerick billionaire JP possibly investing.

He said: “I don’t think I’ve ever played better golf than I have in Ireland. It truly is one of those pleasures in my life that I deeply look forward to and I come over as often as I can.

“JP has invited me over so many times and has become one of my dear friends, although I don’t see him enough. I’ll definitely be there for his next Pro Am tournament.

“And you know what, I’ve often thought about building my own [course] in Ireland.

“It’s this dream of mine, nestled somewhere in the lush hills of Limerick or Cork, or somewhere like that. How beautiful would that be?

“It would take a lot of organisation and planning, no doubt about that — and I’m pretty busy with movies right now — but it’s in the back of my mind.

‘I spend the whole day in that clean Irish air. It’s something I could even go in on with JP. I think he’d be cool with that.”

And Samuel told the Irish Sun that he now picks movies, such as Tarzan and the new Avengers sequel Age of Ultron which were shooting in London, based on how close they are to Ireland.

He said: “They got it in England and Scotland but you know, Ireland is just a quick flight over there and I could be playing all weekend.

“That’s a huge plus for me. I can spend the whole day out there in that clean Irish air. It’s magical.”
