RTÉ cleans up at IMRO Radio Awards 2017 with eight awards

RTÉ cleaned up last night at IMRO Radio Awards 2017 with eight awards.

Their awards included Full Service Station of the Year for RTE Radio 1 and Music Station of the Year for RTE Lyric FM.

The broadcaster also won the Innovation award for Liveline 1917 on RTE Radio 1.

Sideline Productions for RTE Radio 1 bagged Comedy Programme for Colm O’Regan Wants A Word, while Craoltoireacht le Gaeilge went to RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta for Cormac ag a Cúig.


According to Independent.ie, RTE Radio 1 also won Drama for I Seek Refuge, Magazine Programme for The Ray D’Arcy Show, and Documentary/Feature for documentary on One: No Time To Lose.

Newstalk earned six including Sports Broadcaster (Ger Gilroy), Sports Programme (Off the Ball), and News Broadcaster (Sarah McInerney).

The station also won awards for Specialist Speech Programme for Living with Locked-in Syndrome and Short Feature which was awarded to The Pat Kenny Show for A History of Scandal in the Catholic Church.
