Ronan O’Gara has received a huge honour for his excellence in sport.
The rugby star was given the Freedom Of Cork by the Lord Mayor Des Cahill.
“We are a city of sport, we love sport, and it has been some time since a sports person was conferred with the freedom of the city,” Des said.
After the news was announced, Ronan took to his Twitter to thank his city for honouring him.
Thanks to the people of Cork who have always backed me. Proud of where I come from. Very humbled and honoured. ⚪️?⚪️???.
