Pierce Brosnan: 'My confiscated knife was to sharpen my pencils not hunt'

Pierce Brosnan has rubbished rumours that the knife he had confiscated when travelling through an American airport was a 10 inch hunting implement.

Last month, the Irish actor was stopped by TSA agents when travelling through Burlington International Airport in Vermont with the knife.

“I don’t think it was 10-inches of a knife,” he said.

“I’m a painter. I’m an artist, so I had my pencils. The knife just went into the bag – you want to keep your pencils.”

Speaking at the premiere of his new film No Escape, the Navan native was joined on the red carpet with his three sons, Sean, Dylan and Paris.

The 007 star was recently filming in Dublin for revenge thriller I.T. alongside Anna Friel.
