Moone Boy actor David Rawl has admitted he had hoped show creator Chris O’Dowd would have named his child after him.
The Roscommon actor welcomed baby Art with wife Dawn O’Porter this month, and David who plays lead character Martin Moone in the series says he was gutted.
“I was very disappointed when Chris didn’t name his child David but I’m hoping I’ll get the middle name,” he told Goss.ie.

None of Chris’s co-stars have met baby Art yet with actress Deirdre O’Kane telling Goss.ie Art is “only just out of the oven.”
Meanwhile teen star David admitted that the cast of the award winning series would love to make Moone Boy – The Movie.
“We would be up for it, we’d love to do it, I think everyone would love to do it but nothing has come out, maybe it’ll happen,” he told Goss.ie.

Today the first episode of Season Three was given a special premiere in Royal Hospital Kilmainham in Dublin.
– The new series begins on Sky 1 on Monday 2nd March.
