Maura Higgins has revealed the “most disgusting” thing she did on Love Island.
The Longford native appeared on the dating show back in 2019, and now she’s back in the villa as she’s running the social media for Love Island USA.
In a new interview with Page Six, the Irish reality star admitted she often forgot the cameras were rolling, and said “filthy, disgusting” things.
She said: “At the beginning when you’re new to it, you take off your microphone and you leave it outside the [toilet] door because you’re like, ‘I don’t want anyone listening to me.'”
“But after about a week that completely goes out the window. You do not care. I was changing tampons in the dressing room, that’s how comfortable you get.”
“Obviously, we know that there are so many cameras, but there’s [also] so many tech rooms with all the different screens. There’s this room with a massive long table and a massive screen where the execs of the show sit down and watch.”
“I remember going, ‘Oh my god, do you reckon people did this in the UK and watched me because I was disgusting?’ And they were like, ‘Oh 100 percent, they were watching you.’ You really don’t think about that when you’re on the show.”
It comes after Maura shut down rumours she’s set to appear on the all-stars version of Love Island.
She told Goss.ie earlier this month: “I can’t see myself ever doing that again, no. I’ve been asked, but I’ve said no.”
“I just think, I’ve done it once, I’ve had my time on Love Island. I don’t really want to go back in time, I want to look to the future.”
