Marty Guilfoyle has revealed he underwent an “emergency surgical procedure” over the weekend.
In a video shared to Instagram on Monday evening, the popular DJ revealed he has been left with a “cavity” in his leg and as a result, a “small bag” will be attached to him for the next few weeks.
He explained: “So I’ve been in hospital the last couple of days. What started off as a small pain and a little bit of a lump grew.”
“I came into the emergency department on Friday morning thinking that I might just need an antibiotic, but it turns out that I needed what they are calling an emergency surgical procedure.”
“I won’t go into too much detail on the surgery because it’s actually really gross. When I woke up and found out what had happened I was like, ‘Ok I did not need to know that.'”
“So if you’re coming to any of my gigs in the next couple of weeks and are wondering what the bag is… that’s what happened.”
Marty captioned the post: “Just in case you see me walking around with a little bag attached to me from next week here’s why 😂🏥💼”

“I’m walking fine which is great but had to cancel gigs this weekend and everything abroad for at least 4 weeks, but all should be good for @epfestival this Friday!😊”
“Because I now have what’s called a ‘cavity’ in my left leg I need a ‘vac’ to repair it which comes with a small bag that’s ‘like a designer bag, but isn’t one’ (nurses words not mine 😂) and will be attached to me for about 4 weeks everyday repairing the wound post surgery.”
