Earlier this week, an unnamed married couple went viral after it was revealed that the husband was taking make up lessons to help his wife, because she’s losing her sight.
And now, the couple have finally been identified as Des and Mona Manahan from Waterford – and they appeared on The Late Late Show last night.
The couple were joined on the show by Rosie O’Driscoll, the makeup artist who is giving Des his makeup lessons in Debenhams.
On the show, Rosie said, “A couple of weeks ago Mona came in to me looking for advice about makeup… You see, Mona is kind of losing her sight.”
“She will lose her sight eventually, we don’t know when. And Des just took the brushes off me and started doing her makeup.”
Des then revealed that he’s become an expert, and joked, “Actually, I’m getting on so well with [the lessons] I’m thinking of giving them now.”
The couple met in 1952, and have been married for 56 years.
