Laura Whitmore has revealed she was broke when she first moved over to London in 2008.
The Bray native found fame when she became a presenter with MTV, after winning the coveted Pick Me MTV competition.
Since making the move Laura’s career has soared, and she is currently competing in ITV’s Strictly Come Dancing, but it didn’t start off that easy.
“I’m from a single-parent family in Ireland and moved over here without much money and didn’t know anybody,” she said.

The former I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here host was asked what would she like to be remembered for.
“Being brave,” she told Stylist Magazine in their five-minute interview.
“I’m from a single-parent family in Ireland and moved over here without much money and didn’t know anybody. Sometimes you have to take risks.”

The 31-year-old also admitted that her biggest fear is wasting time.
“Oprah Winfrey says her greatest fear is wasting time and I agree – especially with my family being in Ireland.
“I value time with them a lot now, it’s everything,” she added.
