Laura Whitmore CONFIRMED for Strictly Come Dancing

Laura Whitmore has been confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing.

The Bray native will join politician Ed Balls and musician Will Young on the popular BBC dance competition.

The blonde beauty appeared on BBC Radio One’s Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw on Wednesday morning to break the exciting news.

Laura also took to Instagram to announce that she’s the first female contestant confirmed for Strictly 2016.

“So happy to announce I’m the first female confirmed for @bbcstrictlyWatch out world I’m learning to dance! #BBCstrictly2016,” she wrote.

The show is expected to announce another contestant shortly, after announcing first celebrity Ed Balls via their Twitter account on Monday.

Strictly Come Dancing will return for its 14th series in September.

Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are to return as hosts, with judges Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell and Len Goodman also returning to the panel.

The news comes after Laura announced that she was leaving ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here Now! earlier this year.
