Steve Garrigan has praised his girlfriend Diana Bunici for speaking out about being sexually assaulted.

After #MeToo started trending on Twitter amid the ongoing sexual harassment controversy, Diana revealed in a blog post that she was once touched inappropriately on a Dublin bus.

Praising her bravery, Steve told the Irish Mirror, “It’s a fairly heavy thing to talk about.”

“It’s kind of name and shame the people who do that so I was pretty proud of her.”

Steve is now gearing up for the release of Kodaline’s third studio album early next year, and his bandmate Vincent May has revealed that they worked closely with Snow Patrol frontman Johnny McDaid on the album.

“We’re hoping to have the first single out early next year. Johnny McDaid has been a huge part of the new album and worked with lots of different producers and big artists, it’s almost finished.”

The bandmates also revealed that they recently partied with Johnny’s famous fiancé Courteney Cox in London last week.

“Courteney was with Johnny and he was getting awarded at the Irish Post Awards so we just had a big old hooley in London last week and we were up until 4am.”

Kodaline guitarist Mark Prendergast said, “We’re huge fans of Friends and the first time we sat down with Johnny and started talking about music was in Courteney’s house in LA.”

“The first time we met her it was definitely a bit of a shock, but she’s so down to earth, so nice, she’s awesome, once you get over the Friends thing it’s grand.”
