Katie Van Buren: 'I left my DREAM job in RTE to become a presenter in New York'

Dublin TV host Katie Van Buren has admitted it was a huge risk to walk away from her job on RTE – but she’s happy she did.

Katie left RTE in 2012, after hosting Two Tube and The Juice alongside Sinead Kennedy and Stephen Byrne.

The Dubliner upped sticks to New York and now works for Fuse TV, a channel owned by Jennifer Lopez.

Speaking about the move Katie admitted her presenting gig on RTE was her “dream job”.

“I never looked back,” she revealed.

Speaking to The Insider, Katie said she is in love with her new job in New York.

“It was insane that it actually happened. I took a photo of the sign (Fuse TV)  ‘I will work there, I will work there’. I knew I had to make it happen and then it did.”

Meanwhile the 26-year-old admitted New York already feels like home but revealed she would return to Ireland if the right show came along.

“I really love it here and I feel like it’s my home. I’m very blessed with the career. I would definitely fly home for a show,” she said.

“I love moving around. I have no attachments and I’m very lucky at this stage in my life.”
