Jim Carrey has hit out at the media after his ex-girlfriend’s suicide letter was made public.
Tipperary native Cathriona White dated the star on and off for three years before taking her life in September 2015, and this week her letter was released.
“What a shame,” the actor wrote on his official Twitter page.

In a statement to the public the comedian admitted he never thought the ones he loved would be used by the media as he learned early on in his career.
“When I came to Hollywood to make it as a comedian, I soon learned that the details of my private life would be handed out to the media like free dinner vouchers,” he wrote.
“I never dreamed that the people I love most in the world would also be on the menu.
“What a shame. Regrettably, Jim Carrey.”
