Irish contestant set to join the winter series of Love Island

An Irish contestant is set to join the upcoming winter series of Love Island.

The popular dating show returns to our screens on January 16, with host Maya Jama at the helm.

Ten stunning singletons have already been confirmed for the series, and they will later be joined by some bombshell arrivals.

Greg O’Shea, who won the 2019 series of the dating show alongside Amber Gill, has teased the arrival of an Irish bombshell.

Speaking at the Virgin Media Television Spring Launch this week, the Limerick native revealed an Irish girl had reached out to him looking for advice ahead of her stint on the show.

He said: “There has been [an Irish person] onto me alright. It’s a girl.”

The rugby star continued: “She’s unsure now if she is going to be going in, she got a message the other day saying it might not happen…”

“It’s not my place to say, but they are still looking in the Irish pool which is amazing because think about it, how good was Maura Higgins on the show? She completely turned it all on it’s head. And then I came in and won it.”

“So Ireland definitely have a role to play on Love Island and I’m hoping there’ll be a couple more Irish contestants going in. It’ll keep us interested, we’re way more craic!”
