Lee Reeves has responded to rumours he was supposed to appear on Love Island.
The Limerick native was linked to the line-up of the 2023 summer series of the hit dating show just months ago.
At the time, a source told the Limerick Leader: “Apparently he could be entering Love Island as a bombshell. I’ve heard from some people he has flown over already.”

“He has been keeping a low profile and nobody close to him is saying much,” another insider added.
Now, Lee has addressed the rumours, telling Live 95: “I didn’t actually realise until I came back from it all how much people were thinking, ‘He’s on Love Island’. Every news report and tagging that I’ve had was all speculations of Love Island.”
“I think it was just the timing that I said I was going off social media for a bit was the same time that Love Island was happening. So, everybody just created their own agenda from there.”
The Limerick boxer joked: “Unfortunately, my girlfriend won’t let me into Casa Amor.”
At the time he was linked to the Love Island line-up, Lee fuelled speculation by announcing he would be taking a break from his phone.
He wrote on his Instagram Stories: “PSA: Soon I’m going to be off my phone. Got a lot of stuff going on that will eventually be told. All positive I hope!”
“It may be for a week or may be a month so have patience and don’t unfollow me cause I will be back. I just got some stuff that needs all my focus and energy now and a phone will be a distraction. I love you all very much. Future posts if there’s any, will be by #TeamReeves.”
However, it was a different reality TV show Lee opted to take part in – The Survivor UK.
