Rose of Tralee Elysha Brennan has revealed that she started “freaking out and screaming” when her idol Ryan Tubridy rang her.
The Meath native is a huge fan of the Late Late Show host who she affectionately calls Tubbers and admitted her friends know not to text her between 9:30 and 11pm on a Friday night.
The festival winner divulged that Ryan rang her up on Tuesday morning to wish her good luck before the final.

“Ryan Tubridy rang me off his mobile phone yesterday morning and was just congratulating me,” she said.
“He was like, ‘Elysha it’s Ryan,’ and I was like, ‘Hi Ryan!’. I was like, Ryan, who is Ryan?” she told Breakfast Republic on 2fm.
“It was going through my head and I was panicking, what Ryans do I know? and he said, “It’s Tubbers Elysha’ so I just started freaking out and screaming.”

Presenter Jennifer Maguire asked Elysha where she would go on a first date with Tubs and she joked, “The Late Late Show”.
The 22-year-old is the first Meath rose to win the title and is also the first rose representing an Irish county to be crowned Rose in seven years.
