Heartbroken Pippa O'Connor wishes she had one last chat with mum before her 'surreal' death

Model Pippa O’Connor has told of the pain of her mum’s sudden death – and wishing she she could have said goodbye.

The Kildare beauty’s mother Louise Mullen died from a suspected heart attack in October, leaving her devastated.

And speaking for the first time about her passing, the 30-year-old said she would have loved just one more conversation with her mum.

“The suddenness and not being able to have that one last conversation is very tough. I’m okay now today as I’m here, I’m busy,” she said.

“But because it was so sudden and out of blue, it feels very surreal. As corny as it sounds appreciate every day in everyone.”

And Pippa revealed details of their precious last conversation, where they arranged a shopping day.

“It was just a normal conversation, and was about make up actually. It is stupid really,” she said.

“She rang me up saying she saw me somewhere on TV and liked my make-up. She always wanted everything I was wearing.

“She said, ‘I loved your highlighter you had on today’ and I said, ‘Mam you’re 61’, and we said we’d meet up and go shopping for it, and that was last I heard from her.”

The AR model said she has been “just so grateful for all the support I have from friends and family willing me on” – after nearly cancelling a fashion show for her new blog.

Speaking on TV3’s Late Lunch Live, Pippa also said how she wonders what she did before her newborn son Ollie came into her life.

“I am totally used to him now, I often wonder what did I do before him,” she said.

“And without sounding too cliché he’s just the best thing that could ever have happened to me. It sounds really yuck but I feel really lucky to have him.”
