GAA star Paul Galvin: 'I'm excited to get married but I'm NOT a groomzilla'

GAA star Paul Galvin has admitted he can’t wait to get married but insisted: “I’m NOT a groomzilla”.

The Kerry player, who announced the engagement in May, revealed he is willing to walk down the aisle as soon as fiancee Louise Duffy says.

But smitten Paul has vowed that he won’t try and upstage the bride by designing his own wedding suit.

He said: “I am excited. I’m not a broomzilla. I’ll leave all that up to Louise, I’m very relaxed about it, when it happens it happens.

“We haven’t set a date. I wouldn’t like to design my own wedding suit. I’ll get married wherever Louise wants is good for me.”

Now Paul, 34, said he is excited for his autobiography to now be on shelves – revealing that Today FM DJ Louise, 30, helped edit it with him.

“I am happy to get it out there and see how it goes. I enjoyed writing it. I did it quite quickly, I wouldn’t say it was therapeutic but it needed to be done and I am glad I have done it,” he confessed.

“I think I have done a good job. To be honest I had it written in my head for a long time it was just a case of sitting down and typing. From that point of view it was pretty easy.

“I think having a book out at the same time as BOD and Roy Keane is good. It’s good for people who enjoys books. It doesn’t bother me.”

But asked about if the book reveals any juicy details, Paul admitted: “Nothing too mad.

“I think I could have done three books I think the book has a lot of depth and integrity and add context to my life. It’s got a lot of dexterity.”

Off the pitch, Paul is known as one of the most fashionable men in the country – and lots of fans have naturally said they’d love to see him release a fashion line.

But Paul said at the moment he has “no plans” to get designing his own wares.

“I did Galvanise and I have registered my Twitter handle as a trademark but at the moment I have no plans for that. I have a lot of approaches,” he said.

“But relationships have to be right and so does the timing and I like to do things myself anyway. It doesn’t bother me if people slag my clothing.

“I am not interested in what other people are wearing to take note. Everyone is into fashion now. Irish men aren’t afraid of fashion now. A bit of teasing never bothered me. I just wore what I wanted to wear.”
