Father Ted star Frank Kelly is set to undergo surgery for skin cancer in the New Year.
The 75-year-old – known for playing Fr Jack in the hit Channel 4 show – blames it on being in the sun too much when he was a kid.
In 2011, Frank got the all clear from doctors for bowel cancer after a five year battle with the disease.
He said: “I’m having a little procedure when the show is over for two little skin cancers.

“They are the kind of thing swimmers get as a kid and take a lifetime to grow. It’s really from being in the sun.”
However he won’t undergo the surgery until his finishes his role as The Bishop in Moll at Dublin’s Gaiety Theatre – and isn’t worried about it.
He said: “They blast them off. You don’t even stay in hospital overnight. They don’t leave a scar behind either, such is the wonders of modern medicine. I will be available for work the day after.”

Meanwhile, Frank told the Irish Sun that he still loves the Father Ted Christmas special, which has been on every year since 1996.
He said: “It just makes me happy to see it on TV every Christmas. There was a great happy atmosphere on the set, among the actors and cast, and the show is like a photograph of that. Poor Dermot is no longer with us but what fabulous work he left behind.”
