EXCLUSIVE! Vogue Williams admits landing new hosting role was a ‘pinch me moment’

Vogue Williams has admitted landing new hosting role was a “pinch me moment”.

The Irish presenter will host Virgin Media One’s brand new talent show The Big Deal, which starts on September 4.

Boy George, Jedward, JLS’s Aston Merrygold, Deirdre O’Kane and Lyra are on the show’s star-studded judging panel, and they will search for Ireland’s next big performer.

Speaking exclusively to Goss.ie from Dublin’s 3Arena, where the show was filmed, Vogue revealed The Big Deal is her biggest job to date.

The 35-year-old said: “The Big Deal is a talent show but there’s another element to it where the person on stage can take a buyout, a cash buyout rather than letting the judges decide what they’re going to do they have their own spot where they can decide to progress forward or take a nice little bit of cash.”

“When I got the call they didn’t make it out to be as big as it was and actually until I arrived here, I didn’t know how big the stage was, I didn’t know how big the set up was…”

“Every time I’m out [on stage] it is just like a pinch me moment. I’m so happy. I really didn’t want [the show] to end… It’s just been so unbelievably fun and just getting to work with all those incredible judges as well has been amazing and like the whole crew are just great.”

Producer Sean O’Riordan previously told Goss.ie: “Vogue is just astonishing. She just exudes warmth.”

“This is a tough job for a presenter because you’re both a talent show host and a game show host, and normally you have two very different presenting skills for those two sorts of shows. She has to bridge that gap and she’s doing an incredible job.”

“She’s extraordinary, she’s amazing, and it feels really fresh. That’s what I’m so excited about. We set out to put talent in those judges seats and on the stage with the host.”

“Our big goal was to make it feel really fresh and really world-class and I think every single one of them are delivering in exactly the way we wanted them to and in ways, beyond our wildest dreams.”
