Brendan O’Carroll could be headed for Dáil Éireann, after revealing his passion for politics.
The creator of Mrs Brown’s Boys admitted that he has always dreamed of becoming a politician, and revealed now is the right time.
But the comedian believes more reform is needed in Ireland before he could make the move.
“I used to say that I would definitely get involved when the time comes that I didn’t need the money and that time is here,” he told Goss.ie.

“But it would take a lot of reform before I get fully involved in the political sphere. I don’t see a party that would attract me.
“For the values and things I believe in. I think the traditional parties have become too middle of the road and populist in many ways,” he added.
“I set up a party between 8 and 10 years ago called the Social Justice Party and it had a lovely logo but no policies.
“I thought if I could get ten like minded people we could win,” he explained.

Meanwhile Brendan revealed he thinks Mrs. Brown would be very proud of Leo Varadkar for coming out.
The Minister for Health reveled he was gay last week, during a surprise interview on RTE radio with Miriam O’Callaghan.
“I am delighted for Leo,” Brendan told Goss.ie. “Mrs brown, while she might not fully understand it I think she realises Rory is gay but she doesn’t know what it is really.

He added: “I think he is a great talent. I think he probably a future leader he is not a party that I would be involved in but regardless of that I don’t care where the talent comes from.”
“He seems to be calm, measured and good for the country. So to be quite honest with you I don’t care if he is dating a donkey as long as he is keeps doing what he is doing,” he added.
