EXCLUSIVE! Love Island’s Matthew MacNabb reveals why Faye Winter personally apologised to him after the show

Love Island’s Matthew MacNabb has revealed why his co-star Faye Winter personally apologised to him earlier this year.

The Belfast native joined the popular dating show during Casa Amor in 2021, and was a huge hit with viewers.

During his time on the show, Matthew found himself in the middle of Faye’s explosive row with Teddy Soares after Movie Night – which sparked over 24,000 Ofcom complaints.

The drama kicked off after a clip of Teddy saying he was sexually attracted to Casa Amor bombshell Clarisse Juliette was shown.

Faye lashed out at Teddy in a foul-mouthed rant, before some of the other boys chimed in – including Matthew.

After he protested against her behaviour, Faye snapped back at him, saying: “Keep your mouth shut like you normally do.”

Speaking on the Goss Island podcast, sponsored by F&F – Fashion at Tesco, the Love Island star revealed Faye personally apologised to him at The Gossies earlier this year.

The pair bumped into each other at the star-studded awards ceremony, and Faye said she was sorry for the way she spoke to him in the villa.

Reflecting on the fight, Matthew told host Alan Cawley: “I was pissed off just because I was like, that’s such an over reaction.

“It was riling me up more and more, she was just shouting at different people, and I was like just be respectful.”

“She actually apologised to me there recently at The Gossies, she came up to me and said ‘sorry I shouldn’t have acted like that to you’ and stuff.”

“But I actually didn’t hear what she said to me but apparently it was pretty bad… But that’s what she apologised to me for.”
