EXCLUSIVE! Erin McGregor admits she was worried that the public wouldn’t like her on DWTS

The former fitness model said it was a "big insecurity" for her

Erin fashionably foxtrotted her way through week five on Dancing With The Stars, but before going back in to mammy mode she spoke to Goss.ie.

Support in Ardmore Studios was strong from the McGregor clan as always on Sunday night.

Conor McGregor and Dee Devlin were cheering her on from the side of the dance floor with dad Tony and daughter Taylor.

In a pep talk before the show the UFC champ told his big sister “you can do it and I’m really proud of you!”

Conor kept a low profile so as to keep the focus on Erin, which is easy when she has consistently been a tour de force on the dance floor.

Scoring 24 points, her dance to Feels like Home by Chantal Kreviazuk was described by judge Julian as “beautiful and emotionally charged.”

He went on to say “you are beautiful on the dancefloor it was wonderful to see…your family will be very proud of you”

The other judges echoed Julian’s positive comments about her performance with Ryan McShane, but she didn’t find the foxtrot as effortless as she made it look.

“The slower ones are a lot more difficult.. It’s a different ball game. Holding yourself in a dance, it is hard!,” she told us.

The former physique competitor also opened up about fears she had before the show about the public not warming to her.

“That was a big insecurity for me. What if people don’t like me? You know?”

Asked if she can see her self confidence blossoming, the way we can from the couch, she beams reminiscing on how far she has come.

“I remember the first one with you and I was standing here nearly crying. I’m standing here now and I’m halfway through! It’s such an amazing experience!”

The mum of two has been dazzling us on and off the dancefloor, resulting in a nomination for Most Stylish Lady at the 2018 Gossies.
