Influencer Charleen Murphy has opened up about her long-distance relationship with Dano Mandroiu.

The 24-year-old has been dating Irish footballer Dano Mandroiu for four years.

The pair are currently based in different countries, as Dano is signed with Lincoln City F.C. in the UK, while Charleen has remained in Dublin.

The podcaster has been open about the ups and downs of being in a long-distance- relationship on her Instagram and on her podcast Hold My Drink.

Speaking to Goss.ie on the pink carpet at The Gossies 2024, Charleen acknowledged Dano’s absence on the night and admitted: “I wish he was here I feel like an empty person, he would’ve came if he could.”

The 24-year-old also opened up about how they are navigating living in separate countries and said: “It’s just about communication and making sure you’re there for each other and talking to each other a lot and making time- it’s hard”

“At least there’s no time difference with us so it’s easy enough but just making sure you know when you’re seeing them next as well is a big thing, it’s really important.”

In December, Charleen sent fans into a frenzy when she revealed that her boyfriend had picked her up a pair of pyjamas that read “engaged af.”

While fans quickly speculated the pair had gotten engaged, Charleen quickly shut down the rumours.

The 24-year-old influencer took to her Instagram stories to reassure her 230,000 followers that the pair were not set to be married.

Sharing the picture of the pyjama set, the content creator wrote: “Guys I’m not acc engaged.”

“Dano bought me these and didn’t read what they said, if sending me pjs in the post was his proposal I’d say no sorry xxx”

In her emotional acceptance speech, she said: “I’ve never actually been lost for words in my whole life but this is such a huge honour.”

“It’s been such a crazy year for me and for everyone I think and I think it’s really important that we all use our own platforms for things that are important to us and I think that’s what I’ve done the last year.”

“To be recognised for that and to be recognised for what I do is really really special to me.”
