Elaine Crowley has announces the death of her beloved mother.
The popular presenter took to Instagram on Saturday to share the sad news alongside a series of photos of her and her mum.
She captioned the post: “My best friend is gone. My heart is broken. Love you to the moon and back Mary V. I’ll be lost without you. ❤️💔❤️”
Irish social media star James Patrice commented on the post: “I’m so very sorry Elaine, thinking of you ❤️ xxx”
Comedian Deirdre O’Kane wrote: “Oh god, I’ m so sorry Elaine… sending love and strength to you. ❤️”
Karen Koster penned: “What a beautiful mum, so sorry Elaine. May Mary rest in peace xx”, while Lucy Kennedy added: “I’m so sorry for your loss Elaine. X”
In April, Elaine spoke about her mum Mary’s health, after she was diagnosed with cancer in 2019.
She told VIP Magazine: “My mother was particularly sick a few months back and it was hard because I couldn’t spend time with her like I wanted to. But my siblings and I are all roped in to care for mam now. I get my regular Covid tests and we all take turns.”
“She can’t stay nights on her own, so we go down and do that. But, I just can’t pop up and down at weekends just to see her and spend time with her as I would have before the pandemic and that is terrible. At least I have my turn when I am caring for her.”
“I think if you are healthy and nothing awful has happened to the health of your loved ones, everything else isn’t a problem really.”
