Ed Sheeran has revealed that comedian Tommy Tiernan will feature in his upcoming Galway Girl video.
Earlier this week, the town of Galway was buzzing as Ed filmed the video in O’Connors pub.
The singer revealed that he wasn’t used to the massive crowds of fans that the video shoot drew in.
“Tommy Tiernan is in the video as well and he said, ‘Does this happen a lot?’ and I was like ‘No. I shot a video in my hometown in Suffolk and it was literally nothing near what happened in Galway.”

Speaking on 98FM’s Big Breakfast on Thursday he continued, “I do think it’s an Irish thing. There’s no place in the world like Ireland for me.”
Speaking about writing the song the flame haired singer said, “I tried Portlaoise Girl, tried Limerick Girl, tried Cork Girl. It just doesn’t sing as well as Galway Girl.”
The Suffolk native also revealed that he originally wanted to film the video in Dublin – but he thought to would get a “bit dangerous” in the city and was also “going to cost a fortune to get the police”.
