'Down to earth' Russell Crowe bought drinks for everyone in Dublin pub

The barmaid who pulled a pint for Hollywood actor Russell Crowe before he jetted out of Ireland has described him as “really down to earth”.

The A-list actor stopped by Kealy’s Pub at Dublin Airport before flying to Paris following his appearances on The Late Late Show and the Jameson International Film Festival.

According to barmaid Lauren Bowler, the Gladiator star was “quiet”, but he did give her a compliment on the pint she pulled.

Russell was so impressed with Lauren that he took to Twitter to tell his followers, “Goodbye Dublin. Thank you so much. Thank you Kealy’s and the lovely Lauren. Next stop Paris.”

The barmaid told The Herald that she joined the social networking site to see what Russell had said and was delighted with the shout-out.

“He did say the Guinness was lovely and he enjoyed that. He was really down to earth,” she said.

Lauren also revealed the actor bought a round of drinks for everyone in the bar at the end of the night.

The 50-year-old actor caused a stir on The Late Late Show last Friday night when he took to the balcony to give an impromptu performance with the house band.

The Australian star gave a rendition of the Johnny Cash classic Folmson Prison and scolded the audiece for not clapping on time with the tune.

“If you can’t clap in time just shut up,” he said.
