Doireann Garrihy has revealed when she knew she was “in love” with her fiancé Mark Mehigan.
The RTÉ star announced her engagement to her comedian boyfriend in December, after just over a year together.
The couple are wasting no time in planning their wedding, as its understood they’re set to tie the knot later this year.
This appears to be a common theme in their relationship, as Doireann wasted no time in realising Mark was “the one”.
Speaking to Dermot Whelan on his Mind Full podcast, the 2FM star explained how she fell for her comedian beau very quickly.
“I followed him on Instagram. He followed me back and the rest is history. It was a mad. It was kind of like, ‘Is it? Is it? Is it? Is it not?'” she recalled.
“I knew very, very early on. So, we met at the start of October 2022, and in mid November my sisters and I went for a sister night, kind of a Christmas night.
“And after a few wines, I was like, ‘If he doesn’t tell me he loves me by Christmas,I’m gonna tell him!'”
Doireann admitted her sisters had very different reactions, as Aoibhin told her to go for it, and Ailbhe simply told her: “Don’t f**king do it!”
Regardless of what her sisters had to say, the 31-year-old said she didn’t mind being the one to say it first.
Doireann recalled saying: “I don’t care, I’ve loved him from the moment I met him!”
