Doireann Garrihy and Mark Mehigan’s wedding venue ‘revealed’ ahead of their big day

Doireann Garrihy and Mark Mehigan’s wedding venue has been “revealed” ahead of their big day.

The RTÉ 2FM star and her comedian beau got engaged in December, after one year of dating.

The couple are wasting no time in tying the knot, as they’re set to walk down the aisle this October – and they’ve picked a stunning location for their nuptials.

According to the Irish Daily Mail, the pair have booked The K Club Hotel in Co. Kildare for their wedding.

The five star resort isn’t too far from where the couple live in Castleknock, in the home Doireann purchased back in 2022.

The wedding will be a star-studded affair, as they both have a host of famous friends.

Earlier this week, Mark confirmed that they had picked up their marriage registration form.

Taking to Instagram, Mark shared a photo of the pair posing with the all important green folder, as he marked Doireann’s 32nd birthday.

He captioned the post: “Big year ahead. Happy Birthday @doireanngarrihy.”

The husband-and-wife to be spent the past weekend down in West Cork for Doireann’s birthday.

Sharing a sweet selfie of them by the sea, Doireann wrote on Instagram: “This is 32! ☀️ A weekend well spent in West Cork 🌊 Thank you all for the birthday love 💖.”

During a Q&A on Instagram in April, Doireann shared her excitement about being one of the “2024 brides”.

“We’ve set our date, the end of this year in Ireland,” she gushed.

Doireann also revealed what she has checked off her list ahead of their big day.

The bride-to-be told her followers: “We have our venue, church, priest, band, number of guests (the actual list is a work in progress😓), dress 🥳 …a lot to do but we’ll get there!”

“I’m not stressed but I think that’s because I haven’t actually knuckled down yet,” she joked.

The RTÉ star previously informed her 326k followers that she had also found her “dream” dress.

She said in an Instagram post at the time: “I went wedding dress shopping with Aoibhín and Ailbhe and found a dream dress 🤍✨.”

“But thought it was too good to be true to find it first time round… so looked in a second shop with my Mom ❤️ and although we had a ball, my heart was with the dress in the first shop 🥰.”

She continued “So, on a midweek date night – without my Mom or my bridesmaids – and sitting across from my fiancé, I’m doing it all arseways and celebrating saying YES to the dress 🥳🍸🤍👰🏼‍♀️✨”

The couple are wasting no time in tying the knot, which appears to be a common theme in their relationship.

Speaking to Dermot Whelan on his Mind Full podcast, the 2FM star explained how she fell for her comedian beau very quickly.

Mark and Doireann

Doireann recalled: “I knew very, very early on. So, we met at the start of October 2022, and in mid-November my sisters and I went for a sister night, kind of a Christmas night.”

“And after a few wines, I was like, ‘If he doesn’t tell me he loves me by Christmas, I’m gonna tell him!’”

Doireann admitted her sisters had very different reactions, as Aoibhin told her to go for it, and Ailbhe simply told her: “Don’t f**king do it!”

Regardless of what her sisters had to say, the 32-year-old said she didn’t mind being the one to say it first.

Doireann recalled saying: “I don’t care, I’ve loved him from the moment I met him!”

The couple started dating in October 2022, and have since moved in together in Castleknock.

According to a report in the Sunday World earlier this month, Doireann and Mark are considering a major move abroad after their wedding.

The radio host announced her shock departure from RTÉ 2FM at the start of May, and its since been claimed she’s eyeing up a move across the pond with her comedian fiancé.

According to the outlet, the couple are considering a move to London, with the hopes of cracking the UK with the help of celebrity agent Noel Kelly.

Mr Kelly was behind the relaunch of Ryan Tubridy’s career in the UK, and landed him “the best deal” with Virgin Radio – following his dramatic exit from RTÉ.

An insider said: “Doireann and her fiancé Mark Mehigan are believed to want to give London a try and will use NK Management’s increased presence there to help them.”

“Ryan [Tubridy] has a profile over there now and Mark is pretty popular comedian,” the source continued.

“Doireann has more listeners to her podcasts and followers on her social media channels than her radio show, so it kind of makes sense.”

London would be familiar territory for Mark, as he lived there before the pandemic while working for the BBC.
