Des Bishop reveals his plans to stay in Ireland for good

Des Bishop has revealed that he plans to stay in Ireland a lot longer, and that something “really big” would have to happen to take him away from Irish soil.

The 40-year-old, who is usually based in the US or more recently China, admitted that he has found he’s spending a lot of his time in Ireland as of late.

“Since the autumn I have been in Ireland a lot more and I keep thinking I’ll be back in the States but stuff keeps coming up and it’s hard to say no.

“Last year I was thinking that I would move back to the States after China because I had been out of the habit of living in Ireland.

“My mother was sick too so it was good to be there,” he told the Mirror.

Luckily for Des his job does allow him a more flexible schedule to come home if he pleased, and he also admitted he would never turn his back on Ireland – despite the weather.

“That’s the great thing about being a comedian – I’ll just come home when I come home.

“Really the way it stands is I will still be going back to the States a lot but I would need something really big to arrive to actually pull me out of Ireland.

“I like what I do and I like living here. I’m not going to completely turn my back on Ireland ever. Something would need to turn my head other than the weather,” he added.
