Siobhán McSweeney has been hospitalised while filming a new series in Co. Cork.
The actress will star in the TV adaptation of Graham Norton’s novel Holding, which is currently being filmed in Skibbereen.
Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, the 41-year-old shared a photo from the hospital, and wrote: “So. Who has two thumbs and a broken leg? ME.”
“I’m grand,” she insisted. “I’m getting the best of care from the extraordinary nurses and drs here.”
“#Holding production have been extraordinary in allowing me to recover and I’m excited to return to set.”
Praising her partner, Siobhán added: “And of course thanks to @Kevin_J_Brady for being absolutely wonderful through this. The lengths I’ll go to in order to ruin his holiday. 🙏 I’m very lucky to be surrounded by the best of people.”

Siobhán is best known for playing the hilarious Sister Michael in Derry Girls.
Set in the fictional village of Duneen, Holding sees police officer Sergeant PJ Collins try to solve a serious crime, after the body of long-lost local legend Tommy Burke is discovered.
Award-winning actor Conleth Hill will star as PJ Collins in the four-part TV adaption, which will air on Virgin Media Television.
Brenda Fricker, Charlene McKenna, Helen Behan and Pauline McLynn will also star in the series, which is being directed by Kathy Byrne.
Normal People star Clinton Liberty, The South Westerlies’ Amy Conroy, Beast star Olwen Fouéré, Bridget and Eamon’s Eleanor Tiernan and Norma Sheahan, Fair City’s Anne Kent, The Young Offenders star Demi Issac Oviawe and Smother’s Lochlann Ó’Meárain all have starring roles in the show.
Completing the cast are Gary Shelford, Sky Yang, Calum Rea, Jane Spollen, Jim O’Donnell, Pat Kinevane, Karl Quinn, social media star Michael Fry, Maria Connolly, Ian Brooker, Abhainn Harrington, Christopher Logan, Molly Logan, Terhas Gleeson, Ivet Corvea, Gary Murphy and Felix Brown.
