Deirdre O'Kane opens up about her marriage: 'It's a circus'

Comedian Deirdre O’Kane has opened up about married life saying ‘It’s a circus’.

The 45-year-old is married to writer Stephen Bradley and said working in the same industry makes their marriage work.

“It would be very difficult to be with someone who didn’t get the madness. It’s a circus, we each understand the pain,” she said.

The mum-of-two juggles working life with parenting but finds being a mother is whole other challenge.

“I never understood the phrase ‘patience is a virtue’ until I became a parent. Patience is a gift I don’t have. I have to work so hard at it,” she told VIP Magazine. 

The actress is starring in Fiona Looney’s play Are You There Garth, It’s Me Margaret and also made the return to comedy at the Vodafone Comedy Festival and admits she’s happy back on the stage.

“I had to do something! I’m going mad! And having not written in so long, it came very easily and quickly, because I had loads to say,” she admitted. 

The IFTA winning actress lives in the UK but told Goss.ie recently that she will be moving back to Ireland in the future.
