Nicky Byrne met a familiar face over in Sweden.
The singer, who is representing Ireland at the Eurovision next week, bumped into Dara O’Briain, who was doing a comedy gig in Stockholm.
“Dara was great. He was on the radio show about a year ago which was fantastic. Lovely guy. He did a great gig himself last night,” Nicky said.
“We had a good catch up and he wished me all the best so exciting times. Nice to get a nod from somebody you admire. He’s obviously brilliant.”

After landing in Sweden Nicky has been getting used to the Eurovision buzz, and said being over there is like being at the Olympic Games.
“It’s fun. I always knew it was going to be big but it’s enormous – it’s like being at an Olympic Games or a World Cup of songs,” Nicky said.
“I’ve got my flag stuck to the window of my hotel room – it’s over a motorway so it’s great because all the cars passing can see the tricolur and the bottom of the road I can see the arena about half a mile away.
“It’s very exciting – the staging, the size of it, the professionalism, the timing, nothing’s left amiss,” he added.
