Courteney Cox ate ‘scrotum full of maggots’ while filming with Bear Grylls in Ireland

Courteney Cox was forced to eat a ‘testicle sack full of maggots’ while filming with Bear Grylls in Ireland.

The Friends’ star ventured to Kerry last month, where her Snow Patrol beau Johnny McDaid dropped her off, to film for Bear Grylls’ series Running Wild – and it sounds like she had a pretty rough time.

“Poor Courteney Cox, we found this dead sheep in this swamp and I thought, I wonder if we can get some nice lamb off this,” Bear revealed to the New York Post.

“I stuck a knife in it and it’s absolutely rotten, an explosion of maggots came out of this carcass. I thought, we can’t eat this meat, but we could eat the maggots. We’ll take them back to camp and cook them up.

“She said, ‘What would we carry them in?’ I cut the testicle sack off the sheep and took the testicles out and stuffed it full of maggots, tied it in a little bow and stuffed it in my boiling water back at camp.

“Poor Courteney, she e-mailed me about it about a week after to say ‘I think I’m still suffering post-traumatic stress’,” he added.

Courteney’s trip to Ireland comes after it was rumoured that her and Johnny could be eyeing up potential wedding venues on our Emerald Isle.

The new series of Running Wild with Bear Grylls airs exclusively in the UK on Discovery Channel, 9pm, Wednesday 31st August (Sky 520, Virgin 250, BT TV 322).
