Conor McGregor receives fine of $150,000 after UFC conference outburst

Conor McGregor has received a fine of $150,000 for his outburst at the UFC 202 press conference.

The MMA star upset his opponent Nate Diaz when he showed up late to the press conference before their rematch and the pair started throwing bottles at each other.

The 28-year-old was fined 5% of his $3 million earnings from the fight at UFC 202 by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

The NSAC also issued Conor with 50 hours community service and has to take part in an anti-bullying campaign as reported by MMA Fighting.

“I was very, very upset at the incident. It was a high stakes fight, my emotions got the better of me. All I can say is I’m sorry,” the Crumlin native said at the Commission.

“When I saw the bottles coming at my team, I picked up bottles and threw it back at their team. That’s it.

“This fight had everything on the line for me. This was the highest stakes fights I’ve ever been in. I was acting very erratically.”
