Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather are set to announce their much-anticipated fight early next week.

The UFC star and the 40-year-old boxer have been in talks for months, but according to reports – they’ve finally settled on a date and venue.

According to the Irish Sun, the record-breaking deal was held up by a third-party issue, believed to be the UFC, but after Dana White got behind the fight plans – the two parties finally confirmed details for the big-money event.

A source revealed, “Both sides have agreed a fee, date and venue. It’s all ready to be announced early next week.”

According to reports, Dana White initially described it as “the stupidest move he has ever made”, but there was too much money at stake for it not to happen.

“I think it’s going to be a tough deal, because obviously (there are) a lot of egos involved in this deal and a lot of people, so that always makes it tougher,” he said.

“On the flip side, there’s so much money involved I just don’t see how it doesn’t happen. Conor McGregor is huge. He’s 28 years old. He’s in the prime of his career. Floyd is 40.

“Floyd has always had a problem with southpaws. Conor is a southpaw and Conor hits hard,” he added.
