Conor McGregor announces he's retiring – and fans are not happy

UFC champion Conor McGregor has left fans in shocking – after announcing he wants to retire.

While people are hoping his Twitter account has been hacked or Conor was just playing some cruel joke, the Dubliner told fans he was retiring “young”.

Going against his usual positive attitude, Conor shared a shocking and very cryptic status.

 

Since the Tweet Conor, who is currently in Iceland, was approached by Icelandic media outlet MMA Frettir and reportedly said: “No, I’m retired, f**k interviews.”

People quickly took to Twitter to share their outrage at the news, with most asking if the fighter is just playing a prank.

To make things more worrying Conor’s coach James Kavanagh Tweeted it was “fun while it lasted” making fans believe the duo are calling it quits.

Since the Tweet has gone viral many news outlets are reporting that McGregor is set to make an official announcement about his retirement with sources claiming his Tweet was genuine.

 

Meanwhile several publications are claiming UFC “sources” have all backed up Conor’s tweet, admitting that an official announcement will be made soon.

And top MMA journalist Ariel Helwani told his followers the retirement is valid and that Conor was due in Vegas this weekend to promote the next Diaz fight.
