Colin Farrell honoured with major award in the US

Colin Farrell has been honoured at the 34th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival.

The Dublin native was presented the Desert Palm Achievement Award for his Oscar-tipped performance in the Martin McDonagh-directed The Banshees of Inisherin.

Speaking to Variety, the actor praised his fellow Irish co-star Brendan Gleeson, saying their next project together couldn’t come “soon enough”.

“He’s a joy to work with, he comes to it from all the right places, as a man and as an artist,” Colin gushed of Brendan.

“I love him dearly.”

Colin and Brendan have previously worked together on 2008’s In Bruges – which was also directed by Martin McDonagh.

Colin is tipped for success at the Golden Globe Awards, which are set to be held in California on January 10.

The Irish actor is also tipped for Oscars glory for his performance in The Banshees of Inisherin.

The Oscar nominations will be announced on Tuesday, January 24.
