Bressie forced to defend 'gay joke' – after Niall Horan and Eoghan McDermott hijack his Twitter account

Singer Bressie has received backlash after One Direction star Niall Horan and 2FM presenter Eoghan McDermott hijacked his Twitter account.

The Blizzards singer was the subject of a Twitter fight last night after Eoghan and Niall wrote on his Twitter page:

“I’ve been experimenting with my sexuality. No conclusions reached as of yet but it’s been a fun ride so far.”

Under fire: Niall Horan and Eoghan McDermott have caused trouble

The Voice of Ireland star quickly made sure fans knew he himself hadn’t written the status, writing:

“That last tweet came to you from @eoghanmcdermo and @niallofficial . Schoolboy error.”

But Bressie quickly came under fire with GAA star Conor Cusack, who has been very open with his struggle with depression, being the first to hit out at the Tweet.

“Subtle tweets like that exploiting a persons sexuality in a negative way doesn’t help things fellas,” Conor wrote.

Not so funny: Niall Horan hijacked Bressie’s Twitter account

Bressie then took down the status as well as his photo with his friends, but Twitter users had already seen the comments.

“Kind of disappointed in tweet from @nbrez account joking about experimenting with your sexuality…” one user wrote.

While another added: “Very disappointed in @nbrez and @niallofficial. Those jokes aren’t funny for gay young people.

“The humour based on ‘gay is bad’.”

Bressie quickly defended the Tweet, telling fans he didn’t write the status and admitted it was wrong.

“It was a tweet not posted by myself,” he wrote.

“But with no intent, if anything childish…careless on all accounts.”

The singer-songwriter didn’t seem too happy when fans hit out at him for allowing the Tweet to go up – after all his work on mental health.

“Refrain questioning the work I do on mental health from someone tweeting on my phone,” he told one user.

Bressie hung out with long-time friend Niall over the Christmas holidays, and joined Eoghan McDermott and the One Direction star on Stephen’s Day.
