Sharing the news on Twitter Chris wrote: “Congratulations to all the 2019 Emmy nominees. Especially me, I’m particularly pleased for me.#StateOfTheUnion.”

Meanwhile his wife, author Dawn O’Porter, wrote the sweetest Instagram post after the news broke.

Paying tribute to her husband, Dawn wrote: “AN EMMY NOM!!! No you’re crying at your desk. Oh my goodness. This sensational man, he works so hard. He busts his balls.

“He always nails it. He makes the best choices with his work. He works the longest hours, he often has to be away from us. He finds that hard, we all do. Yet when he comes home he parents harder than you can imagine. And husbands so well too.

“He never stops. He is relentless in his brilliance and there it is in print, recognition for it all. Busting with pride. Well done my LOVE @chrisodowd ???? (Now, what am I gonna wear).”
