Actor Jim Carrey’s girlfriend Cathriona White’s family have called her a “shining light” after she was found dead at her residence in LA.
The Tipperary native’s family have released a statement expressing their sadness over their “beloved daughter and sister”.
“The family of Cathriona White sincerely regret the untimely passing of their beloved daughter and sister,” the statement said.

“Cathriona was a shining light in our lives who was loved deeply by her entire family. We will miss her terribly and at this difficult time we ask to be left in private to mourn our loss.
“There will be no further statements on behalf of the family,” the statement to Independent.ie added.
The Irish woman was found on late on Monday night after law enforcement officials reportedly responded to a call to the Sherman Oaks area where they discovered her body.
Comedian Jim began dating the make-up artist in 2012, however the pair called it quits a few months later before reuniting in May of this year.

According to TMZ, the pair officially broke-up on September 24th and Cathriona took to Twitter the same day to post her final message.
“Signing off Twitter, I hope I have been a light to my nearest and dearest,” she wrote.
The Cable Guy actor also released a statement expressing his grief over the sudden death of his 28-year-old girlfriend.
“I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona,” he told ET.
“She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled.”
