Caroline Morahan 'giddy with excitement' at spending Christmas in Ireland for Abbey debut

Caroline Morahan is “giddy with excitement” to move home for Christmas – to make her debut at the Abbey Theatre.

The LA-based actress is taking part in their Xmas production of She Stoops to Conquer and can’t wait to be here for the festive season.

The former RTE star has already begun rehearsals, which this time frees her from having to carry a massive puppet on stage – unlike her last stage role in Anglo The Musical.

She said: “I am giddy with excitement. It’s my Abbey debut and I get to wear a fantastic frock – what more could you want?”

Caroline is playing the leading role of Miss Kate Hardcastle in the play, and is over the moon with the costumes.

“There are lots of silks and feathers and hats,” she told the Irish Independent. “We’re even contemplating throwing in a hand fan or two.”
